MELBOURNE, May 8, 2011- Chairman Michael Roux and Managing Director Lucy Shorrocks are pleased to announce Victorian Opera audiences increased by 51% in 2010, reaching 41,779 people.
The news comes as Victorian Opera prepares to end 2011 season on a high with Benjamin Britten's Albert Herring and the Baroque Triple Bill. Victorian Opera released the 2010 Annual Report today, outlining the combination of fiscal responsibility and audience growth through new commissions and exciting repertoire has seen the company grow exponentially in the last financial year.
