The Darkest Night

Winter Solstice is marked around the world through gatherings, rituals and festivals. Victorian Opera marked the arrival of this astronomical event by live-streaming an intimate recital from their home of Horti Hall on Monday 20 June.

The performance featured young artists of the company's Professional Development Program, together with VOYCE perform a captivating collection of songs inspired by The Darkest Night, curated by Victorian Opera's Artistic Director Richard Mills and Head of Music Phoebe Briggs. It was followed by a short Q & A with some of the artists, and also included a live chat feed in which the company interacted with online audiences throughout the event.
