Three Tales

Livestreamed Event
27 Oct 2017

In this unique event, you’re invited into our rehearsal room as highlights of three new Australian works are performed after a week-long workshop.

Following Victorian Opera’s first livestreamed event The Darkest Night, the company continues its exploration of the digital sphere with a rare glimpse into the process of developing a new opera.

Based on Flaubert’s Trois Contes or Three Tales, leading Australian composers Stefan Cassomenos, Dermot Tutty, and Katie Noonan and Zac Hurren are each interpreting one tale as the basis for a short new work. Lauded ensemble Plexus provide accompaniment to specialist singers as they perform excerpts of the new works and the composers will discuss their creative processes.

These three chamber operas are to be staged in Victorian Opera’s 2019 Season. This is an exclusive insight into the creative process of Australia’s leading commissioner and producer of new opera and your chance to offer feedback that directly contributes to Victorian Opera's 2019 Season.

The livestream commences at 7:30pm on Friday 27 October. It will be available via a link on this page as well as on Victorian Opera's Facebook and YouTube channels.
