WORLD PREMIERE
WATCH A PREVIEW of Midnight Son on the ABC 7.30 Report
From the opening lines of Midnight Son, Ray Clark’s predicament is clear. His world has spiralled out of control. His wife Marisa is dead and his lover Clara has been jailed for her murder. As the clock is wound back on these three devastated lives, the blinding nature of obsession is revealed in this modern-day operatic tragedy.
Midnight Son continues Victorian Opera’s tradition of new Australian work at the Malthouse Theatre.
Midnight Son was composed with financial assistance from the Music Board of the Australia Council, the federal government’s arts and advisory body, and The Ian Potter Cultural Trust.
