The Damnation of Faust 19 February
As Marguerite ascends to heaven she brings to a conclusion the life of Victorian Opera's first lady for the year - the year of the woman. Although The Damnation of Faust deals principally with a man, Faust, and the darkness of his soul, it is his reaction to and involvement with a woman, Marguerite, which drives the work. And it is Marguerite who wins our hearts and minds.
Experience the legend of Faust as you have never heard it before, with more than 90 singers on stage in Victorian Opera's opening concert at Hamer Hall, the Arts Centre. The concert will be a spectacle featuring the Victorian Opera Chorus, the National Boys Choir of Australia, and Orchestra Victoria conducted by Victorian Opera's Music Director Richard Gill.
A night to remember - book now to avoid missing out on what will be a sell-out concert.
