Access All Areas: Livestream Program

Join the company in a series of four interactive livestreamed workshops as you prepare to watch a livestreamed performance of Victorian Opera’s production, The Selfish Giant, at Sale Cinemas in May 2022.

A grumpy Giant's garden is overtaken by Winter, Wind, Frost and Snow, to hilarious effect, after he bans the local children from playing in it. When a group of children find a way in, he quickly learns that only they will bring his garden back to life.

Based on Oscar Wilde's story of the same name, The Selfish Giant teaches the importance of generosity and kindness and how we often learn these lessons in the most unlikely circumstances.

Ideal for Primary School students in Years Foundation to 6.

Aligns with Australian Curriculum General Capabilities and Learning Areas in:

  • The Arts - Music, Drama and Visual Arts
  • English

Supported by a downloadable Education Resource with curriculum-aligned classroom activities tailored to each workshop (available mid-March 2022).
