About

Malthouse is one of Australia’s leading theatres located in Melbourne. For more than 45-years Malthouse has been a home for adventurous artists, audiences, and ideas. Engaging with both local and global communities, our programming premieres the latest in theatrical thought and ideas, collaborating with artists from Australia and around the world.

The Malthouse is a magnificent historic 140+ year old brewery that was converted into a theatre in the 1980s and has since been home to Melbourne’s leading theatre company of bold and innovative new work, Malthouse Theatre. The Malthouse houses two theatres, rehearsal studios, meeting rooms, a bar and a café, all in the heart of Southbank.

The Malthouse website features detailed information on planning your journey, seating, and accessiblity.
