Every year, Victorian Opera delivers an education-focused performance for its Access All Areas program.

In Term 2 2025, we are proud to present a brand new Australian opera, called The Lyrebird’s Voice, an exciting production specifically tailored to primary school-aged students. The Lyrebird’s Voice explores the concepts of bravery, identity, diversity and belonging through colourful and charismatic characters of Australian wildlife.

Access All Areas includes four online workshops and a performance that can be viewed live in-theatre or streamed online. All content is easily accessed online via a dedicated viewing portal and available on demand for six months, to better suit individual school timetabling.

In 2025, Victorian Opera is thrilled to offer the online program at no cost to all Victorian primary schools. If your school has not received a unique PIN and how to view instructions, email us via education@victorianopera.com.au.

Learn about the process of designing and creating the world of the production through costumes, sets and lighting,
Meet and hear the opera singers starring in the production
Discover how the director shapes the action on stage
Observe an orchestral rehearsal.
