Victorian Opera’s exclusive photographic exhibition at Sofitel Melbourne On Collins offers you a glimpse into the unseen moments that lead to presenting a performance.

Taken across Victorian Opera’s 2025 and 2026 seasons, you’re invited behind the scenes on a series of productions presented at the Palais Theatre. From Australia’s first professionally staged production of James Goldman and Stephen Sondheim’s large-scale Broadway musical Follies to the hijinks of Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Pirates of Penzance, step into this up-close look at performers in their natural habitat.

The series, captured by Melbourne / Naarm photographer Casey Horsfield, follows various casts and creative teams as they add finishing touches before the curtain rises on opening night.

Available at The Atrium on 35 until 31 July 2026, guests can indulge in the hotel’s interpretation of the iconic Opera Cake, crafted with Callebaut 72% dark chocolate, hazelnut and delicate vanilla snow, alongside The High Note, a signature cocktail created exclusively for the season.
